Frederick Fisher and Partners, USA
The Aedes West Gallery is the ideal venue to reflect on Frederick Fisher’s
exploration of the relationship between art and architecture. His approach
to architecture derives its roots in a broad cultural and social perspective.
Frederick Fisher and Partners plans to focus the exhibition on art-related
projects. The artistic theme will feature work encompassing the art world: art
exhibition and artists’ studios; collaborative projects with artists; and
museum and gallery structures.
The show will focus on rehabilitation and expansion of the Berlinische
Galerie in Berlin, Germany and the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in New
York City. Additional projects to be included in the exhibition are the Bronya
and Andy Galef Center for Fine Arts and Ben Maltz Gallery at Otis College
of Art and Design in Los Angeles; the Broad Art Foundation in Santa
Monica; Grant Selwyn Fine Art in Beverly Hills and L.A. Louver Gallery in
Venice, California, among others.
Frederick Fisher’s collaborative projects with sculptures by Tony Berlant and
architecture projects will highlight the exhibition.
The Office views architecture as an "experiential" medium which helps recall
the collaborative and artistic process as basis of their work. Alternating
video projections, large-scale three-dimensional models, digital and
hand-rendered drawings and watercolor paintings will display a multimedia
approach.
